Skal Bombay 144, V-Empower All Foundation make an impact @Kamathipura #Mumbai with the Cup of Life initiative.

Menstrual Hygiene day – Educating commercial sex workers on Menstrual hygiene and health.

In a recent initiative, Skal Bombay 144, V-Empower All Foundation make a social impact @Kamathipura #Mumbai with the Cup of Life programme. This cause was a worthy CSR initiative by SKAL Bombay 144, V-Empower All Foundation by Dr Megha Sharma and Dr Nishant S Mehta and Kalyani Nagar, Pune, Rotary Club. The objective was to bring in awareness on menstrual hygiene and health amidst commercial sex workers at Mumbai’s red light district Kamathipura. The Cup of Life slogan was worded right to share the importance of using menstrual cups and its benefits in the long run. The CUP OF LIFE, as the name suggests, is a project that aims to spread awareness in women from different backgrounds about the importance of menstrual hygiene and menstrual cups.
This will educate, empower & enable women. It focuses on the idea that menstrual cups are no longer a product used by only the rich but can be accessed by women from all strata of society too.

These menstrual cups have numerous advantages.
01. They are sustainable and environment friendly.
02. They prevent bacterial infection as they are made from medical grade silicon.
03. They have a minimum shelf life of 5 years which can last upto 10 years as well and are reusable numerous times.
04. 125% cost efficient as compared to sanitary napkins and tampons.
05. They save water as we need just half cup of hot water to clean.

Cup of Life has its own speakers and trained volunteers who will be given a further 50 beneficiaries to train and follow up with every month. The project also has multiple Social Influencers who have stepped up to be a part of this noble cause.
